The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies are heading to Austin for the first time since the 2010 season to take on the No. 17 Texas Longhorns in a high-stakes rivalry week showdown between the two iconic Lone Star State programs.
The Aggies already have their College Football Playoff spot locked up, but they will still be looking to secure their first 12-0 regular season since 1992 and officially punch their ticket to Atlanta. The Longhorns, on the other hand, will be looking to keep their slim CFP hopes alive heading into championship weekend.
SEC Network analyst Benjamin Watson broke down the massive rivalry week clash between these 2 hated rivals on the SEC Football Final, and said that the game is going to come down to physicality.
“It’s going to be about physicality,” Watson said. “They’re (Texas A&M) going to come into Austin and attempt to bully and push around Texas because when Arch Manning gets pressured, they struggle. If Texas A&M can get in there, and their defensive line can go against Texas’ offensive line… That’s been the recipe for impacting Texas. When you play a physical brand of football.”

If A&M can manage to pull out the win over the Horns, then they will have secured their first trip to the SEC Championship since joining the conference back in 2012. If Texas can stand up to the Aggies’ physicality and pull the upset, though, then they will have given the selection committee something to think about.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
