SEC Network analyst Chris Doering is following all of the action in Atlanta this weekend as the SEC Media Days are taking place. Coaches and players from all the teams in the conference are talking all things college football as their teams prepare for the upcoming season.
During a segment on SEC Network, the Doering and Peter Burns each made their predictions for the upcoming season. Burns went pretty standard with his picks, while Doering decided to make a series of very bold picks.
If you are cheering for LSU or Oklahoma this season, you will love the picks that Doering made. He has Brent Venables winning the SEC coach of the year, and Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer winning both the SEC Offensive Player of the Year, as well as the Heisman Trophy.
BetMGM doesn’t have odds for the SEC coach or Offensive player of the year, but Mateer currently sitting at +2500 odds to win the Heisman Trophy. While he may not have given LSU a lot of individual accolades, the fans in Baton Rouge are going to love his picks for the team.
He has the Tigers winning both the SEC, as well as winning the national title. LSU is currently priced at +750 to win the SEC, with its odds to winning the national championship at +1500.
It is that time of the year where everyone who loves college football is making their picks. Some people stay chalk on their selections, and others take risks. LSU and Oklahoma are both expected to be improved this season, and if Doering is right, then it will be an incredibly fun season for the fans in Baton Rouge and Norman.
