After the first full month of college football wrapped up, SEC Network analysts Chris Doering, Dari Nowkhah and Benjamin Watson named their MVPs for the month of September.

Doering went with Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden, who has been a key piece of Missouri’s offense this season as the Tigers remain undefeated. Burden has already racked up 644 yards and 5 touchdowns on the year.

“The guy that’s stood out to me as a former receiver is Luther Burden,” Doering said. “4 straight games with a 100 yards receiving, 3 touchdowns today, that takes him to 6 on the season. They get him the ball in so many different ways. He’s able to make plays on short throws and run after the catch, he’s able to get it deep.”

Watson and Nowkhah went with the electric tight end out of Georgia, Brock Bowers. Bowers has had back-to-back huge games and has racked up 413 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season. Bowers was integral in Georgia’s win over Auburn on Saturday.

“From what I saw today from the No. 1 team in the country, Brock Bowers,” Watson said. “This is a guy that’s been dependable, he hasn’t had big games, he’s only had 1 other 100-yard game, which was last week, but he shows up in critical times for this team when they need a play.”
