SEC Network anchor inks multi-year deal

SEC Network anchor Peter Burns signed a new multi-year Thursday, according to Gideon Cohen of IF Management.

Burns joined SEC Network as a studio host during its launch in August 2014. He’s appeared regularly on the news and information show SEC Now.

Prior to joining ESPN, Burns was the host of The Press Box on Mile High Sports Radio in Denver. The program was syndicated on several stations across the region and had a partnership with the Denver Post, according to ESPNMediaZone.com.

Burns began his broadcasting career in 2005 and has been a guest on ESPN, ESPN2, MSNBC and Fox News. The Baton Rogue native attended The University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Mary’s University where he played on the golf team.
