SEC Network hosts Alyssa Lang and Takeo Spikes believe the Heisman Trophy winner plays in Baton Rouge.

The 2 made their case for Jayden Daniels to be the winner Wednesday evening, breaking down his outstanding season so far.

Spikes brought up Daniels performance against Florida, which was just another example of how dominant he’s been this season.

“The first player ever in FBS history with more than 350 passing yards and 200 rushing yards,” Spikes said. “Listen, hello Heisman voters, I am Takeo Spikes and I’m nominating this guy. And it seems to me what bothers me is that, everybody seems to want to point at this past game. This guy has been amazing the entire year. You can go back and look at when he played against Mizzou when his defense didn’t show up for the game. He put the entire team on his back and went score for score to get them that win.”

Lang believes that the only way Daniels won’t win the Heisman is if another quarterback has an unbelievable game in the next 2 games.

“If Jayden Daniels doesn’t win the Heisman, it’ll be because these other quarterbacks do something unbelievable in the next 2 weeks,” Lang said. “But Jayden Daniels is only gonna continue to pad those numbers.”

She also said that Heisman voters shouldn’t focus too much on a player’s team’s performance, as the award honors an individual rather than an entire team.

“If he doesn’t win Heisman, it’s because Heisman voters are holding his defense against him and holding those losses against him,” Lang said. “We’re talking about the most outstanding player in college football, and when Jayden Daniels’ team has lost, his numbers haven’t dropped off.”
