The SEC has been filled with traditional rivalries for as long as the conference has existed, and that’s almost 100 years now.

But in Week 7, the conference will officially add another rivalry to its football lore when Texas faces Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Yes, on Oct. 12, the Red River Rivalry will become an SEC rivalry, after all these decades.

Right now, the Longhorns are ranked 2nd in the AP Poll after getting bumped out of the top spot by Alabama, while the Sooners check in at No. 19. And by the luck of the schedule, both Texas and Oklahoma have byes in Week 6, so the rivals will be rested and ready to clash at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Texas will enter the matchup at a perfect 5-0, while Oklahoma is 4-1, with the only blemish being a home loss to 4th-ranked Tennessee in Week 4.

Meanwhile, before Texas and Oklahoma collide on ABC, top-ranked Alabama hosts South Carolina in a noon ABC tilt.

Things really get interesting in primetime in Week 7. Fourth-ranked Tennessee hosts Florida at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN in one of the SEC’s greatest rivalry games.

While the Gators and Volunteers are locking horns on ESPN, 12th-ranked Ole Miss and 13th-ranked LSU will collide at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC from Baton Rouge.
