Missouri AD confirms SEC scheduled to discuss potential June return to campus for athletes

As previously discussed by LSU Executive Deputy AD/Executive Director of External Relations Verge Ausberry, leaders from around the Southeastern Conference are set to meet on a call on next week to discuss the potential return of athletes to campuses around the league.
That’s the latest from Missouri Athletic Director Jim Sterk, who held a virtual meeting with Mizzou members on Thursday.
The Mizzou AD confirmed that leaders from around the SEC are set to discuss a possible return to campus for athletes starting June 1, according to Dave Matter of the St. Louis Dispatch. The meeting is scheduled for May 22, according to Sterk. That’s the same date Ausberry also previously provided.
While not noted by Sterk, Ausberry mentioned that if June 1 is not the desired timeline to return athletes to campus, June 15 could also be a targeted date set for their return to campus.
When it comes to the upcoming college football season, any and all speculation you may hear is nothing more than guesswork, according to Sterk.
“Anything of an opinion right now is a guess. And it’s most likely to be wrong,” the Mizzou AD added.
Based on several reports, the timeline for making a decision on the upcoming college football season is not scheduled to be made until mid- to late-June or early July.
