The return of SEC football also means the return of the iconic SEC Shorts series.
This week’s episode took the form of a “back-to-school” party, where each SEC team returns home from their “first day of school” and discusses how their day ultimately turned out.
Teams like Texas and Kentucky talk about how awful their first days were, while other teams like Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU all talk about how great their first days were.
There were also plenty of jokes made poking fun at the letdown of Arch Manning’s start against OSU after all the preseason hype he received, and they also had a quip about how LSU finally managed to win its first game of the season for the first time this decade.
The best part of the entire video without question, however, was when Alabama ended up getting on the wrong school bus on the way home, and in turns out to be the “Gus Bus” which is a nod to current FSU offensive coordinator, and former Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn, who has long been a thorn in the side of the Tide for years.
The video then cuts to Alabama being back at home, reliving the nightmare of a game they had against the Noles and remarking on how it was “just like playing Auburn in the 2010s again.”
Lastly, the end things off with Tennessee being tucked into bed, but as soon as the door is shut, they sneak out to go watch the UCLA game, and are shown reveling in the poor performance of former Vols’ QB Nico Iamaleava.
