Fans, media react to Mississippi State dominating Kentucky in the first half of SEC Tournament matchup

Mississippi State has never beaten a John Calipari-coached Kentucky team.
The Bulldogs’ losing streak to the Wildcats looks like it may be ending in just another half of action as Mississippi State has jumped out to a 44-30 halftime lead in the second round of the 2021 SEC Tournament from Nashville.
The Bulldogs are dominating the boards with 29 rebounds to just 15 for Kentucky. Mississippi State is also shooting 58 percent from the field, with 36 of the team’s 44 points coming in the paint.
Keep in mind, Kentucky desperately needs a win here to help its NCAA Tournament chances. Leaving Nashville without a single win could prove to be devastating to the team’s NCAA hopes.
Despite that, the Wildcats aren’t showing much toughness at the moment.
Here are some of the best reactions to Mississippi State’s big first-half showing:
Halftime: Mississippi State 44, Kentucky 30. That's the Kentucky we've seen for the majority of this year. #BBN #ukbasketball

This is where we're at in 2021: Mississippi State has been more talented, athletic and physically tougher at every position on the floor today than Kentucky.
Mississippi State went 14-13 this season and had a losing record in SEC play ?‍♂️?‍♂️

John Calipari bristled at the notion this game could set up like Kentucky's SEC Tournament loss to Vanderbilt in 2013. Right now, Wildcats looking very meek.

Mississippi State is dunking all over Kentucky and ending their season. This isn’t a typo.

Mississippi State outscored Kentucky 36-12 in the paint and outrebounded the 'Cats 29-15 in the first half. Total domination around the rim.

Mississippi state is doing everything right and Kentucky is doing everything wrong.

You can stick a fork in Kentucky, they are just terrible. Mississippi State may win that by 30
