The Southeastern Conference football madness kicks off tonight with South Carolina and Vanderbilt, two teams that desperately need to start the season 1-0.

Can the SEC have a clean sweep of its Week 1 opponents? Be sure and check out our Week 1 predictions.

Reddit user ktffan took on the monumental task of compiling every college football team’s opening-week record ahead of the 2015 season. Of the major Power 5 programs, Ohio State has the best record in season openers, winning over 88 percent of its games. The Buckeyes will take on Virginia Tech Monday night.

The highest ranked SEC program is Alabama, which has won over 81 percent of its season openers. The Crimson Tide, of course, play Wisconsin Saturday night. Arkansas finished second and has won over 79 percent its season openers. The Hogs should add to that against UTEP.

Every SEC program has won over 65 percent of its season openers:

  • Alabama: (96-21-3)–0.813
  • Arkansas: (93-23-4)–0.792
  • Auburn: (94-26-2)–0.779
  • Tennessee: (88-24-6)–0.771
  • Georgia: (91-27-3)–0.764
  • Ole Miss: (89-26-5)–0.763
  • Florida: (81-27-0)–0.750
  • LSU: (88-28-5)–0.748
  • Texas A&M: (86-33-1)–0.721
  • Mississippi St.: (81-32-2)–0.713
  • Kentucky: (84-35-5)–0.698
  • South Carolina: (80-37-4)–0.678
  • Missouri: (79-40-5)–0.657
  • Vanderbilt: (80-42-3)–0.652

Be sure and check out every college football team’s record in season openers on Reddit.
