The new $200 million deal for NBA superstar Steph Curry caught the attention of sports fans everywhere, even fellow athletes like former Missouri LB Shane Ray.

The Denver Bronco, currently making $2.2 million a year per Spotrac, says NFL players deserve to be making more.

As one would expect, Ray received some pushback on Twitter. People took issue with seeing Ray, a millionaire, complain about what his salary and others cited the NFL’s shorter schedule for its lower salaries than the NBA.

An amusing twist results from Ray’s Twitter exchanges when he reveals that he will raise his son to play a sport other than football, and it’s not basketball.

It’s hard to argue with Ray’s strategy. When it comes to contracts, the MLB is the polar opposite of the NFL. In the MLB, players are guaranteed to see every dime of their contract, even if a team later decides to cut them from the big-league roster.
