After starting his LSU career at safety, senior Corey Thompson attempted to switch to outside linebacker prior to the 2016 season.
However, Thompson was injured in fall camp and has not played this season.
According to interim coach Ed Orgeron, Thompson now will redshirt in 2016 and will appeal to the NCAA for a sixth season:
Orgeron says #LSU OLB Corey Thompson will redshirt this season. He'll apply for a 6th year.

Thompson has played sparingly in his LSU career, which has coincided with some great talent in the secondary.
