Shaedon Sharpe was one of the top recruits in the 2022 recruiting class. But, he reclassified to the 2021 class and joined the Kentucky Wildcats a year early.
However, he didn’t actually appear in any games for the Wildcats during the 2021-22 campaign, and it appears that will remain the case.
On Thursday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Sharpe is declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft and will stay in the draft class:
Kentucky freshman Shaedon Sharpe will declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, and stay in, team sources tell me and @KyleTucker_ATH. NBA teams project Sharpe as a potential high draft lottery pick.

As Charania notes, Sharpe could be a lottery pick in this year’s draft, depending on how things play out over the next couple of months.
The 2022 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 23, in Brooklyn.
