Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks travel to Florida this week, and they’ll likely need a big game from MarShawn Lloyd in order to pull off an upset.
After Lloyd missed last week’s game at Vanderbilt, Beamer was asked for an update on the running back this week on the SEC coaches media teleconference.
“He’s doing great. He practiced today and looked good,” Beamer said.
In 8 games this season, Lloyd has rushed 100 times for 556 yards and 9 touchdowns. He’s 10th in the SEC in yardage and third in touchdowns. It was the first game he missed since the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Beamer also gave his assessment of Florida QB Anthony Richardson.
“It’s really really impressive,” he said. “What a talent. He’s big, he’s fast, he’s strong and physical. He can make literally every throw on the football field. He’s a phenomenal player.”
