Shane Beamer updates South Carolina’s injury situation for Week 3
By Sydney Hunte
Published:
Shane Beamer, during his teleconference on Sunday, provided injury updates on South Carolina players following the Gamecocks’ win over Furman.
The Gamecocks survived a bit of a scare against the Paladins, but eventually pulled away for a 47-21 win to bounce back from a season-opening loss to North Carolina. Up next on the schedule: No. 1 Georgia at Sanford Stadium.
And South Carolina could have a few reinforcements when it pays a visit to the Bulldogs. Markee Anderson, a true freshman offensive lineman, didn’t play against Furman but is “very probable” to see the field against Georgia, per Beamer. Syracuse transfer Jatius Geer has been declared “probable”.
South Carolina is an overwhelming underdog against Georgia, as expected. Georgia has broken the 40-point barrier in both of its games and currently has the country’s longest home winning streak at 20 after Alabama’s 21-game run was stopped by Texas on Saturday. Needless to say, the Gamecocks will have their hands full.
Shane Beamer teleconference. Injuries:
Markee Anderson is "very probable" for this week, Jatius Geer is probable.
Everybody else (A. Brown, Nelson, Dunn, Morgan, Emmanwori, Spaulding) is questionable. Next update Tuesday.
