Shea Patterson sets Ole Miss single-game passing record against UT Martin
Safe to say Shea Patterson has lived up to the hype in his first season as the entrenched starting quarterback in Oxford.
While the sophomore did make three starts last season after Chad Kelly was lost for the season, the 2017 season is the first in which Ole Miss came into the season prepared to hand the reins of the offense to Patterson from the start.
In his first start of this season, Patterson threw for 429 yards and four touchdowns against South Alabama. Quite the impressive debut, yet, he found a way to top it Saturday against UT Martin. Patterson now stands alone atop the Ole Miss single-game passing record book with 489 yards against the Skyhawks. Oh, he also added five more touchdowns Saturday.
That achievement isn’t the only record Patterson has broken this season, as he is the only players in school history with multiple 400+ passing yards and four touchdown performances.
Not bad for a player making his fifth-career start.
Shea Patterson has the only two games in @OleMissFB history with 400+ passing yards and 4 passing TDs.
