Social media reacts to Gavin DeGraw’s halftime performance at the Orange Bowl

Florida played to a 24-14 halftime lead over Virginia in the FedEx Orange Bowl on Monday evening at Hard Rock Stadium. With the game being played in the Sunshine State, there is certainly a fair bit of Gators colors in the stands.
During the halftime show, fans were treated to a live performance by musician Gavin DeGraw, known mostly for his 2003 hit song “I Don’t Want To Be”, a Top 10 on the music charts. While the appearance may have led to a bit of nostalgia from some in attendance, viewers watching and streaming the game on ESPN saw one of the lesser-known songs in his catalog.
That led to plenty of reaction on social media, some harsh, some not-so-harsh and some that was just plain humorous.
i cannot fully explain the shock of getting home, turning on the Orange Bowl, and instead getting Gavin DeGraw

appreciate Gavin Degraw wearing an American flag hat to indicate he is pro-America. Otherwise, I would have pegged him for one of the Kaiser's pawns!

Gavin DeGraw is absolutely crushing this halftime show. Everyone is going nuts. Now I know what it was like to see Elvis live. Insanity. An epic performance by a legendary singer/songwriter. I need a cigarette.

Almost escaped 2019 without some live music from Gavin DeGraw. Nice save @OrangeBowl.

They decided to televise one Gavin Degraw song during halftime, and they chose the only one people don’t actually know?? #OrangeBowl

Halftime reading has informed me that Gavin DeGraw, who has one top-10 Hot 100 hit, released a greatest hits album in 2014.
It peaked at No. 95 on the charts. No. 94 that week was Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits, which came out in 1988.
