Scott Stricklin’s tenure as Florida’s athletic director unofficially started a few days early.

Stricklin is in Jacksonville today for the No. 14 Gators’ critical SEC East game against Georgia. The former Mississippi State athletic director is set to replace the outgoing Jeremy Foley on Nov. 1.

Stricklin tweeted a picture from EverBank Field in Jacksonville along with the hashtag “#GoGators.”

Mississippi State also plays at 3:30 p.m. today, but Stricklin is free to attend the Florida game after the Bulldogs named an interim athletic director Tuesday. Stricklin tweeted a farewell letter to Mississippi State fans hours before the announcement, effectively ending his time in Starkville.
