South Carolina is supposed to be kicking off its first home game of the 2025 season on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET against in-state foe South Carolina State. However, storms across the South have played a role on a few games in the area, as the Georgia and Austin Peay game was delayed in the third quarter.
The Gamecocks were scheduled to kick the game off at 7 p.m. ET, but that will be pushed back.
South Carolina is looking to build off the 24-11 win against Virginia Tech in Week 1. The Gamecocks at times looked sluggish, but they showed off the big play potential by taking a punt back for a touchdown, with LaNorris Sellers connecting with Nyck Harbor to separate and pull away for the win.
The Bulldogs got their season off on the right path in Week 1, as they knocked off Wofford, 16-15. They scored a touchdown with 1:29 remaining in the fourth quarter to take the lead and secure the win.
The Gamecocks entered the 2025 season with high expectations, and they are only bigger after getting a win in Week 1. Fans are looking forward to watching their team play, but it might take just a little bit longer for the game to start.
