South Carolina assistant leaving for high school job, per report

South Carolina appears to be losing another assistant coach.
It was reported Wednesday morning that South Carolina legend and former quarterback Connor Shaw is leaving his off-field support staff role. Now, tight ends coach Erik Kimrey is leaving the school for a job to be named later.
Multiple reports are citing Kimrey will leave USC just one year after arriving. The State’s Lou Bezjak and Ben Portnoy reported the following.
The South Carolina tight ends coach is leaving the program to be the head coach at an out-of-state high school, The State confirmed Wednesday with a source close to Kimrey. An official announcement about his next job is expected to come this week.
Times Free Press’ Stephen Hargis also reported that the school is believed to be the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Multiple outlets in the Carolinas are reporting South Carolina TE coach Erik Kimrey is leaving to coach an “out of state” high school program. That HS program is believed to be Baylor due to his relationship with former Hammond School headmaster Chris Angel, now HM at Baylor.

Kimrey was making $200,000 at South Carolina.
A graduate of the University of Florida and founder of Saturday Down South, Kevin is a college football enthusiast.
