South Carolina continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail.
The latest commitment for the Gamecocks comes from a Class of 2027 tight end. He made the announcement on Friday via Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Out of Brentwood (Tennessee) Academy, Lancaster is listed as measuring 6-4 and 230 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Lancaster is rated 3-stars, the No. 34 player in the state of Tennessee, No. 41 tight end and No. 779 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
More impressive than his rating, Lancaster has a lengthy offer list of 44. Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Oregon and Texas A&M are among the programs that showed interest during Lancaster’s recruitment.
In his announcement, Lancaster said he chose South Carolina over Auburn, LSU, Ohio State and UCLA. He said the people and environment led him to Columbia.
“All the people are super cool,” Lancaster told Hale McGranahan of Gamecock247. “It’s a good environment. Just feels like a place that you want to wake up, play and go ball out, pursue your dreams there.”
With Lancaster on board, Shane Beamer‘s staff now has 6 players committed. The Gamecocks have landed 4 of those commitments this week. Fans can get a preview of what Lancaster brings to the program by checking out his junior-season highlights at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
