Andy Shain of The State in Columbia reports that South Carolina will name its indoor practice facility after Steve Spurrier and his wife, Jerri.

That facility is getting a minor facelift while there are much more extensive renovations on the horizon.

Next year, construction for a $50 million football operations center will start. Approval for Phase I was granted on Tuesday, according to The Post and Courier’s David Caraviello.

The Gamecocks will be looking to bounce back from a 3-9 season, their fewest wins in a season since their winless 0-11 campaign in 1999, the first of Lou Holtz’s six-year tenure before Spurrier arrived.
