South Carolina defensive lineman Davonte Miles has reportedly been arrested on a marijuana charge on Tuesday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

According to the report, officers seized “approximately 20 individual bags of green plant material consistent with marijuana” in Miles’ car. The arrest came after the officers initially stopped Miles “for an improper display of the vehicle tag and window tint violation.”

At the moment, Miles is reportedly charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana (First Offense).

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Miles spent last season at South Carolina after 3 years at Bowling Green.

Miles was considered the No. 87 defensive lineman in the portal, according to the 247Sports transfer rankings. In his first season with the Gamecocks, Miles tallied 6 total tackles and half a sack. Miles was a backup defensive tackle for South Carolina during his 11 games last season.

During his 3 seasons with Bowling Green, Miles recorded 26 total tackles.

Coming out of high school, Miles was regarded as the No. 24 prospect from Michigan and the No. 119 defensive lineman in the nation. Miles earned 3 all-state selections as a high school player.

South Carolina finished with a 4-8 record and second-to-last finish in the SEC standings in 2025.
