Help is on the way Columbia.
Frank Martin’s program landed a boost early Tuesday morning as Georgetown graduate transfer Tre Campbell announced he plans to finish his collegiate career at South Carolina. Campbell has made 84 appearances for Georgetown during his career and averaged just over three points per game.
The Gamecocks have lost several players this offseason to transfer or the NBA and Campbell’s addition should help with the team’s depth immediately next season.
The Washington, D.C. native announced the new on Twitter:
FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK GOD TO PUT ME IN THIS POSITION AND GIVING ME THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY ONE MORE YEAR OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL AND PROVE EVERYBODY WRONG. AND ALSO WANT TO THANK COACH MARTIN FOR THIS CHANCE. I AM COMMITTING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA ?? pic.twitter.com/L48uZI36f2
