South Carolina saw one tight end leave the program on Thursday as Austin Stogner announced that he would transfer back to Oklahoma after 1 year in Columbia.
Now, another member of the TE room has revealed his own plans to not only depart the Gamecocks football program but the sport altogether. Traevon Kenion, a redshirt junior, made the announcement on Thursday:

Kenion was a 3-star recruit when he signed with the Gamecocks out of the class of 2019. He appeared in 3 games as a freshman before redshirting. In 2020, he saw the field in the season’s last 3 games.
In 2021, following the arrival of Shane Beamer, Kenion carved out a larger role in the Gamecocks’ offense, seeing time in every game that year and starting once, making 4 catches for 49 yards and finding the end zone once, against Texas A&M. He made 3 catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in 2022, with a pair of grabs for 33 yards and a score against Georgia and 1 catch for 22 yards in the Gamecocks’ upset win over Tennessee.
