Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks delivered huge wins when it mattered most for South Carolina, and after the game, the quarterback discussed the latest victory on Sirius XM.
“It meant a lot,” he said. “Coach Beamer’s first win versus Clemson, first time we beat them since 2013, and snapped their 40-win home game streak. It means a lot. My first year here, I wanted to set a standard, set a statement, these last 2 games were definitely one.”
Rattler was asked when the light switch went on for him.
“The Vanderbilt game, at that point in the season, we were like turn it up a notch, do what we’re good at,” he said. “I feel like we limited a lot of stuff, not too much, not making it easy, but just doing what we’re good at, and that’s what we did in the Vanderbilt game, Tennessee game, and obviously this game. So you see the difference we have in output we have in these 3 games and finishing the season (versus) how we started out. We knew these last 2 games were going to change the history of the program, so we wanted to finish strong.”
