Stetson Bennett for Heisman? Support growing for Georgia QB after sensational start

Stetson Bennett continues to impress, and now the Georgia quarterback is being mentioned as a Heisman Trophy candidate.
After a sensational first half in which Bennett was 18-for-21 passing for 254 yards and a touchdown, along with 2 carries for 8 yards, and another score, Bennett had the chatter rolling in. Could the former walk-on go to New York, and sit alongside the likes of Will Anderson Jr., Bryce Young and CJ Stroud? It appears so. Sentiment is building among college football fans and media.
Against the No. 11 Ducks, Bennett looked as if he picked up from last season without missing a beat. Bennett still proved to be a strong QB who is in total control of Todd Monken’s offense. There was no drop off even after Bennett was named Offensive MVP of the CFP Championship Game when he completed 17 of 26 passes for 224 yards and a pair of TDs, and directed 2 fourth-quarter TD drives against Alabama.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction:
Stetson Bennett is having fun. This might be the year. He’s a dark horse for the Heisman

Multiple people have approached me in the last three days and told me it is their view that Stetson Bennett will get Heisman run this year, and multiple times I have looked for a counterargument and come up empty

For those waiting on the inevitable tweet from me…Stetson Bennett IV is on pace to be 540/630 passing for 7,620 yards and 60 total TDs this season, but he’s somehow not the Heisman favorite? Even after winning National Championship Game MVP vs Little Brother? #GoDawgs #HEISMAIV
