College football legend Steve Spurrier is apparently tired of sitting around.
The University of Florida ambassador recently coached in the AAF prior to the league folding, and now, reports indicate that Spurrier is opening a restaurant in Gainesville.
Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples was the first to mention the HBC’s new restaurant, calling it a “new American casual dining restaurant concept.”
Steve Spurrier will hold a press conference at noon Monday in Gainesville to announce that he’s seeking a teammate to “operate his new American casual dining restaurant concept.”
To my eternal dismay, I have been assured that it will not be a hot dog restaurant called Fun N Bun.

Next, the Gainesville Sun’s Pat Dooley indicated the location in Gainesville — Celebration Pointe.
Presser Monday to announce new Steve spurrier restaurant in Celebration Pointe. Visors optional.

Anyhow, we’ll have more details Monday when the restaurant is officially announced.
Nobody — and we mean nobody — can forget Spurrier’s Arby’s photo following SEC Media Days in 2013. So, it’s only natural that it’s a casual dining concept.
