Florida is often referred to as the “Sunshine State,” but this weekend was anything but sunny for most fans who call the U.S. peninsula home.

Miami — both the Hurricanes and the Dolphins — got the weekend off to a rough start, losing on Thursday night.

From there, the state’s other major football programs didn’t do very well, either. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles all lost too, marking the first time since the Jaguars were created in 1995 that all six major programs lost on the same weekend.

Yes, we realize that UCF had the weekend off, so please leave us alone in the comments section, Knights fans.

Still, that is quite the accomplishment in futility, and we’ll see how long it takes for such a dubious feat to happen again.
