Take that 2020: 75-yard TD scored on 1st play of college game

College football is back with a bang.
On the first play of the 2020 season, Austin Peay’s CJ Evans ran 75 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was good, giving the Governors an early 7-0 lead over Central Arkansas.

The FCS Kickoff game is being played at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama. ESPN’s Matt Barrie and Mike Golic Jr. are calling the game from a studio in Bristol, Connecticut while reporter Lauren Sisler is at the stadium on the sideline.
In 2019, Austin Peay went 11-4, ending its season with an FCS playoff loss to Montana State. Central Arkansas went 9-4, falling in the opening round to Illinois State University.
Next Thursday, Sept. 3, the FBS season is scheduled to get underway as Southern Miss will take on South Alabama.
