Tampa will reportedly host the College Football Playoff National Championship in 4 years.

Dallas had been slated to host the game. Brett McMurphy of the Action Network reported Monday that Dallas has a scheduling conflict that means it has to give up hosting the CFP national title.

The news comes on the day that the current season’s CFP National Championship is being played in Atlanta. Host sites for the next 5 national titles are now planned out, though 2028-30 are not yet official:

  • Jan. 19, 2026: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami
  • Jan. 25, 2027: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas
  • Jan. 24, 2028: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans
  • Jan. 22, 2029: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa
  • Jan. 21, 2030: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami

Tampa last hosted the game on Jan. 9, 2017. The third national title game of the CFP era, No. 2 Clemson defeated No. 1 Alabama 35-31 in a thriller. It was Clemson’s first national title won under Dabo Swinney.
