A Tennessee defender has departed Rocky Top ahead of the 2024 football season.
Parker Thune of Rivals reported that Volunteer redshirt freshman DE Chandavian Bradley has left UT and enrolled at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. Bradley confirmed Thune’s report, quoting the post and thanking Josh Heupel’s staff for the opportunity.
Extreme thank you to the entire @Vol_Football staff for everything you guys have done for me https://t.co/bnQ4T1vm7c

Over the years, numerous athletes have transferred from Power conference programs to the JUCO level due to academic issues. Bradley, however, said that’s not the case for his transfer. He told a commenter that he did not have a grade issue.
Grades are perfectly fine. Just stepped away. Working on a few things

Out of Platte County (Missouri) High School, Bradley was a sought-after prospect. Rated 4-stars, the No. 21 edge defender and No. 136 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite, Bradley had 32 scholarship offers.
In the spring and summer of 2022, Bradley visited Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Kansas. Bradley verbally committed to UT in July 2022. Deion Sanders’ Colorado staff made a late push to flip Bradley, but the Under Armour All-American followed through on his verbal pledge and signed with the Volunteers in December 2022.
At Tennessee, Bradley did not receive any playing time during the 2023 season, allowing him to take a redshirt. While no team is looking to shed depth in the summer, Bradley’s departure is unlikely to have an impact on the 2024 defense.
Bradley has four remaining seasons of college football eligibility and can play for Hutchinson C.C. in 2024. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported in March that Bradley was cited for reckless driving by UTPD.
