Tennessee reportedly lands transfer commitment from Colorado 2-way player
While the transfer portal did officially close for players to enter on Friday, commitments will continue to roll on over the coming weeks as the plethora of players still in limbo look to find new homes.
Tennessee was one of a handful of teams that made some major moves in the portal over the weekend, and a commitment from former Colorado 2-way player Isaiah Hardge was one of the Volunteers’ latest additions.
Per reports from On3’s Austin Priceless, the Hollywood, Florida native committed to join Josh Heupel‘s program on Sunday after spending a pair of seasons under Deion Sanders.
The Buffaloes have taken a liking to 2-way players under Coach Prime, but Hardge never really found a rhythm while in Boulder. The 5-foot-10, 165 lb. athlete played both at receiver and cornerback for Colorado, recording 6 catches for 76 yards and 14 total tackles combined in 2024 and 2025. Hardge did not appear in the stat sheet following the team’s win over Wyoming on Sept. 20.
Coming out of high school, Hardge was rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, and he also held offers from the likes of Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Penn State.
Heupel’s unique, up-tempo offense is a great place for talented receivers to find their footing, and with the Vols’ defense undergoing a remodel over the offseason, it’s safe to say that Hardge has the potential to make an immediate impact in Knoxville.
Hardge will be joining former Colorado teammate Ryan Staub at UT, as his former quarterback also announced his pledge to Rocky Top on Sunday.
