A Knoxville native, Edwards was a 4-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. The former Knoxville Catholic standout opted to stay home and play for Rick Barnes’ program over scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and others.
Edwards saw limited playing time in his freshman season with the Vols. He played 60 minutes over 14 minutes, logging a season-high 10:25 of playing time in UT’s home win over South Carolina on Feb. 25. His other season highs came in nonconference play against Tennessee Tech (5 points, Nov. 7), McNeese State (2 rebounds, Nov. 30) and Alcorn State (3 assists, Dec. 24).
We’ll see what’s next for Edwards as he appears to be looking to transfer.
