Dayne Davis has confirmed he will be back in orange and white for the 2024 campaign.
Davis announced Thursday that he will be back at Tennessee to use his final season of eligibility.
“Growing up a fan of the Vols and being able to wear the T every Saturday for the past five years, I couldn’t pass up on an opportunity for one more year to compete with my brothers for championship,” Davis wrote in a note posted to social media.
“With another year left of eligibility, l’ll be staying in Knoxville to compete for a championship one last year with my brothers.
“Home is where my heart is, Rocky Top Tennessee.”
Davis will be a sixth-year super senior in 2024. He redshirted in 2019 as a walk-on. Davis earned a scholarship in 2020, a season that does not count against his eligibility due to the COVID-19 conditions.
Over the past 3 seasons, Davis has appeared in all 39 games. He made the first three starts of his career at right tackle in the 2021 season.
Davis was a reserve for much of the 2022 and ’23 seasons but returned to the starting lineup this past season against Georgia and Vanderbilt. He did not allow any pressures against the Bulldogs or Commodores.
