Texas beat out some SEC competition to land a blue-chip in-state defensive lineman.
Coming off a Junior Day visit in Austin, Lance Jackson from Texarkana announced that he has verbally pledged to play for Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns.

A standout of Pleasant Grove, Jackson is listed as measuring 6-5, 245 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Jackson is rated 4-stars, the No. 9 defensive lineman, No. 18 playeer in the Lone Star State and No. 105 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
Jackson has picked up scholarship offers from 27 programs during his recruitment. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M are among the other programs that expressed interest in Jackson.
Sarkisian’s staff now has five commitments in the 2025 recruiting class, which is rated No. 9 nationally on the Composite. Jackson has the highest rating of the three defensive pledges. QB KJ Lacey is No. 73 overall on the Composite.
