Johnson heads to College Station after 4 seasons with the Owls. A Treasure Coast High School product from Port St. Lucie, Florida, Johnson began his college football as a walk-on at Rice.
After beginning as a center, Johnson made the move to fullback in 2019. He made 3 appearances at the position, preserving a redshirt.
Rice played just 5 games in the COVID-shortened 2020 season. Johnson played in every game of the season, making 2 starts.
In 2021, Johnson made a pair of starts at fullback while also logging snaps on special teams. He played in 13 games for the Owls in 2022.
