Texas A&M has landed another transfer of note for its 2025 roster.

Michael Earley’s staff looked to the West Coast Conference for a catcher. After playing his freshman season at Saint Mary’s College of California, Connor “Bear” Harrison is headed to Bryan-College Station.

Harrison shared the big news on social media Wednesday evening.

The 6-3 Harrison played in 43 games, making 42 starts for the Gaels in 2024.

At the plate, Harrison slashed .322 AVG/.410 OBP/.541 SLG collecting 36 RBI. A WCC All-Freshman team selection, Harrison recorded hits in 8 of his last 9 games, finishing with 47 for the season over 146 at-bats. He had 8 doubles and 8 homers in addition to 21 walks and scored 24 runs on the season. Harrison had 4 games in which he recorded 3 hits.

Harrison had a strong finish to his freshman season. He went on an impressive streak in the WCC tournament, where he reached base 8 straight times, spanning from his last at-bat in the team’s 14-10 win over Pepperdine all the way to the Gales’ final game against Gonzaga. In his first taste of postseason play, Harrison finished 4-7 with a run scored and a double in three games at the conference tournament.

As a catcher, Harrison posted a fielding percentage of .990. He had 268 putouts, 18 assists and 3 errors.

Texas A&M has a likely opening behind the dish in 2025. Jackson Appel, who started 59 games for the Aggies, is expected to leave in the upcoming MLB Draft.  Max Kaufer opted to transfer after two seasons at A&M to South Carolina.
