Texas A&M safety Bryce Anderson taken off field on a stretcher after scary hit vs. Notre Dame
Saturday’s matchup between No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 16 Texas A&M came to a devastating halt late in the second quarter after Texas A&M safety Bryce Anderson appeared to suffer a significant injury when he collided with Notre Dame tight end Eli Raridon and one of his Aggie teammates.
After a 25-yard pass play to Raridon, Anderson stayed down on the field, face down. He was tended to by A&M trainers but eventually the entire team was on the field with him.
He was later taken off the field on a stretcher. As he exited, Anderson gave a thumbs-up to the crowd and received a roaring ovation.
Anderson is a senior defensive back from Beaumont, Texas. Saturday’s appearance was his 38th dating back to 2022. He entered the matchup with 6 tackles on the season.
Anderson made 24 total tackles last year with 3 pass breakups, 1 interception, and 2.5 tackles for loss.
A&M went into the locker room at the halftime break leading the Irish 28-24. Texas A&M outscored Notre Dame 21-10 in the second quarter to jump in front. The Aggies had 328 yards of total offense in the first half while giving up 218 yards to Notre Dame.
