Texas A&M’s seeding in the NCAA Tournament draws plenty of social media reaction

Texas A&M is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 5 years, but Aggies fans are quite frustrated.
Buzz Williams took the reins in College Station after 5 seasons at Virginia Tech, where he led the Hokies to 3 straight tournament appearances—including a Sweet 16 in 2019. He now has taken the Aggies to the Big Dance in his 4th season.
That’s the good news. The bad news regards the Aggies’ seeding: they’re the No. 7 seed in the Midwest region.
Despite a 25-9 campaign and a 15-3 mark in the SEC regular season, the selection committee might point to A&M’s 7-6 record against Quad 1 opponents. That said, it had more of its share of quality wins in conference play, including a home win over Alabama in the final game before the conference tournament. On top of that, Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology, while not the single source of truth when it comes to bracket projections, had the Aggies as a 5 seed even before their loss to Alabama in the SEC final, ultimately the tournament’s top overall seed.
It will be interesting to hear why the committee thought the Aggies only deserved a 7 seed. Social media certainly felt A&M deserved better:
A&M gets absolutely screwed. Wow.

Seven seed feels low for Texas A&M. Wow.

How the hell is Texas a and m getting a seven seed?

A seven seed is absolutely ridiculous.

We won 25 games, finished 2nd in the SEC and made the conference final. We were top 20 in NET, RPI, KenPom, and KPI coming into today. A seven seed is an absolute joke.

Texas A&M and getting screwed by the NCAA selection committee name a more iconic duo

Texas/Texas A&M in round two could be a war. Aggies got screwed. They get Penn State, too.
Iowa/Auburn is going to be wild.
Pitt or Miss. State could be a First Four team to make a run.
Drake is a threat as a 12.

Guess the NCAA selection committee is still mad at Buzz for his list last year seeding them 7th after going 17-4 in the SEC including the Tournament and setting them up in a second round match against Texas. Don’t even like the Aggies but they got screwed over.
