Texas was putting it to Vanderbilt on the field during a punishing beatdown on Saturday afternoon in Austin, and a national TV audience on ABC was watching it all go down.

The 9th-ranked Commodores’ dream season was unraveling as Arch Manning continued to shred the Vandy defense. It was 24-10 at halftime, and then it got worse in the 2nd half, as the Longhorns led 34-10 before a meaningless Commodores touchdown in the 4th quarter. Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, who was 1 of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy coming into the game, ran 25 yards for a touchdown to make it 34-16 with a little over 10 minutes left.

But the TD only brought more heat on Pavia, not from the Texas players but from the crowd in Austin, which mercilessly chanted “overrated” at the star quarterback and his team, which was heading toward its 2nd loss of the season.

Here is the raw video of the crowd chanting at Pavia and the Commodores:

Apparently, the “overrated” chants could be heard on the ABC broadcast, too, with this post featuring a picture of the TV right after that Pavia touchdown run.

Those boisterous and fired up Longhorns fans were on display, for all of the nation to see and, apparently, hear:

There were more “overrated” chants though, as Vandy was taking it on the chin on Saturday in Austin after being 1 of college football’s darlings for most of this season.
