3-star tight end Brandon Frazier will either be staying in Texas or heading to the SEC.
On Thursday, Frazier listed his top four schools and included a trio of SEC programs — Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn. The fourth school on Frazier’s list is Texas Tech.
Frazier is a former Arkansas commit who decommitted on Nov. 12 following the firing of former Razorbacks head coach Chad Morris. However, Frazier is still considering attending Arkansas, which is now led by new head coach Sam Pittman.
Frazier is the No. 24 tight end in the 2020 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 80 recruit from Texas. He currently attends McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas.
Earlier this month, Frazier hosted Alabama tight ends coach Jeff Banks on an in-home visit, and he later expressed what interested him about potentially playing for the Crimson Tide.
“Knowing that they’ll win,” Frazier said, according to Hank South of 247sports.com. “Also just seeing the potential player I could become within Bama. They put some tight ends in the league. They use the tight end pretty often. It’s cool envisioning myself playing there, especially for a big-time program like that.”
Frazier will continue to consider his options, however, as he’s set to take an official visit to Auburn from Jan. 17-19. He’s already taken official visits to Arkansas and Texas Tech, but he has yet to visit Alabama’s campus officially.
National Signing Day is Feb. 5, so Frazier will have to make his decision by then.
