Thomas Castellanos got the last laugh after grabbing headlines with his initial assessment of Alabama. On the game’s broadcast, it was noted multiple times that Florida State players appreciated Castellanos’ expressing confidence in the team’s chances against Alabama.
After leading Mike Norvell’s team to a signature win, Castellanos was asked to share his pregame message to the Noles.
“This is you know, this is why I came to Florida State This is why I wanted to be a part of and then I’m talking in the offseason– nothing bad to go to Alabama, no disrespect anything like that. But we Florida State and this is what we came here to do. We have a rich history just like they do. We got a rich legacy just like they do. So I just wanted the guys understand that you know, we’re at Florida State.
“We’re Florida State. We’re playing for the state, so let’s go represent all the guys that played and stuff like that. And and that was the message That’s all I wanted.”
"We ARE Florida State and we have that rich history and legacy as well."
