Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams appear to be the clear front-runners for the Heisman Trophy this season, and updated odds from Circa Sports suggest the trio is clearly in a class by itself.

Young and Stroud are leading the pack at +300, and Williams is next at +800.

Young, the reigning Heisman winner out of Alabama has longer odds to repeat, as Ohio State’s Archie Griffin is the only player to win the award twice. Oklahoma is the only school to have 2 players win the award in back-to-back years playing the same position, in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. Of course, Young isn’t the only Alabama player among the top 5 players, as linebacker Will Anderson is fifth in the odds.

Stroud and Ohio State are getting plenty of attention as the possible preseason No. 1 team in the land. Stroud led the best offense in the nation last season with Ohio State being No. 1 nationally in total offense (561.2 yards per game) and scoring offense (45.7 ppg), and No. 3 in passing offense (380.9 ypg). He completed 317-of-441 passes for 4,435 yards with 44 TDs vs. just 6 INTs.

Meanwhile, Williams, the Oklahoma transfer, is the key piece in the new program at Southern Cal under Lincoln Riley. Williams’ play helped trigger Spencer Rattler to move to the SEC and steer the Shane Beamer-led South Carolina program.

Williams started 7 games as a freshman last season for Oklahoma, and passed for 1,912 yards and 21 touchdowns. He’s the latest promising QB under Riley, who has also mentored Heisman winners Mayfield and Murray.
