Three SEC teams have sent more players to NFL recently than any other schools nationally
It should come as no surprise that Alabama has led the nation in total players sent to the NFL over the last five years. What is somewhat of a surprise, however, is that LSU and Florida rank just behind the Crimson Tide in that same category. No other school nationally can compete with the 60 or more players each has sent to the league since 2013.
Thanks to Reddit user curtisas, who did a terrifically thorough job breaking down the total number of college players sent to the NFL by every major college football team over the last five drafts (2013-2017). When combining draft selections with signed undrafted free agents, no school could match Alabama, LSU, or Florida. Auburn was the only other school to rank in the Top 10 nationally. Considering the East’s troubles beating the West in recent seasons, it should come as no surprise to see the last four on the list are all from the East division.
Here’s a complete breakdown of how the list breaks down from the SEC:
- Alabama – 65 total, 41 drafted, 24 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 1 nationally
- LSU – 61 total, 35 drafted, 26 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 2 nationally
- Florida – 60 total, 35 drafted, 25 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 3 nationally
- Auburn – 51 total, 17 drafted, 34 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 8 nationally

- Arkansas – 38 total, 21 drafted, 17 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 18 nationally
- Missouri – 36 total, 16 drafted, 20 undrafted free agents; Ranked No. 21 nationally
