Tim Tebow won’t be starting off the baseball season at the Major League level but that doesn’t mean the former Florida legend isn’t making progress in his professional baseball career.
The Mets recently announced Tebow would be re-assigned to the team’s minor league camp meaning the former Gator quarterback will start the season at the Triple-A level in Syracuse. Last season, Tebow had an average of .273 with six home runs and 36 RBIs for Double-A Binghamton.
Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen recently suggested Tebow’s move to Triple-A could have been done in an effort to get the former quarterback more prepared to play this season for the Mets.
“We wanted to get him out of major league camp because we feel like there’s real development that can be done to get him off to a good start and potentially help us this season,” Van Wagenen said according to Tim Healy of Newsday.
No matter how you look at it, the Mets are only one move away from experiencing Tebow Time in New York.
