It goes without saying that Dawg Nation is fired up to have Todd Gurley back in the Peach State.

If you missed the big news of Friday morning, the Atlanta Falcons have signed Gurley to a one-year deal a day after the Los Angeles Rams released the former All-Pro running back before having to pay him just over $10 million in roster bonuses.

This news comes after the Falcons released longtime running back Devonta Freeman this week after the former Atlanta running back struggled for consecutive seasons with the franchise.

Now the Falcons have added potentially one of the best players in the NFL, provided Gurley is fully healthy for the 2020 season, and will be able to pair him with a capable quarterback in Matt Ryan and arguably the best receiver in the NFL in Julio Jones.

Following the news, Mark Richt, Gurley’s college coach at Georgia, shared his excitement to see that his former running back was returning to the Peach State. Here’s how Richt reacted to the news:

Coach Richt wasn’t alone as Dawg Nation was jumping for joy heading into their weekend following Atlanta’s signing of Gurley:

What do you think Georiga fans, is this the best signing the Falcons have had in recent seasons?
