Tolu Smith has become a standout big man for Mississippi State the past 2 seasons, even though his 2021-22 campaign was hampered by injuries.

As the Bulldogs are transitioning from Ben Howland to Chris Jans at head coach, they got some good news on Tuesday morning.

As you can see below, Smith took to Twitter to reveal that he was returning to Starkville for the 2022-23 season:

Smith appeared in 21 games for the Bulldogs last season, starting 20 of them. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block per contest.

His return gives Jans a budding star to build around. We’ll see how the rest of the Mississippi State roster fills out ahead of next season.
