Tom Herman era off to shaky start at Texas as Maryland takes commanding halftime lead
Longhorn fans expecting an immediate turnaround following the hiring of former Houston coach Tom Herman may have to wait a bit longer than they expected.
Despite having a losing record last season, Texas, for some unknown reason, entered the 2017 season ranked No. 23 in the preseason AP Poll. It may be awhile before Texas is ranked again, as the Hornhorns face a 30-14 deficit at home against unranked Maryland at halftime of the season opener.
