Auburn suffered a brutal last-second loss to Virginia in the Final Four Friday night.
What made it even worse was that some Auburn fans celebrated and rolled Toomer’s Corner thinking the Tigers had beaten the Cavaliers and awkwardly missed the heartbreaking ending to the game.
Fans came rushing to Toomer’s Corner following the missed three pointer by UVA’s Kyle Guy, but they didn’t realize that the officials had called a foul on the three point attempt. Guy ended up making all three free throws to give the Cavaliers the 63-62 win.
The mood turned to somber as fans cleared out rather quickly after having realized what actually happened.
Auburn’s Toomer’s Corner was LIT… until the students found out they had actually lost the game 😬
